However just point out it is not all white teenagers quite a few still act themselves. Its because they feel they are cool and hard its also the teenage desire to rebel against society and authoritative figures. Pimps, hoes, gangstas etc... all anti authority right? Well I myself am mixed white and black and when I went to college noticed some groups of white kids going really OTT with it thinking they are cool. I used to laugh with my black mates because they used to speak more slang and act more *black* so to speak than the blacks did! Wierdo white trash I say.
Also most decent blacks are really fed up with this image since it is very very negative of them and totally denies the fact that not every black HAS TO engage in illegal activity and be illiterate just to preserve their own culture. This also affects lower class blacks into thinking this is their culture so its an all round negative affect. Personally I hope Obama becomes the next US President and starts highlighting a culture to sporn a better black culture instead of the low life image that it has.
If you control the perception you control reality. Media controls perception, government controls reality. At least thats the way its supposed to work!

The reason isn't clear. I know alot of my friends do try to act like that. I guess media has a big role in this question. "Gangsters, pimps," and how the media has made it up to be cool has a lot of effect on the population. Sagging pants is one of those things that just recently became popular, for white people. Most think it makes them look cool and that it's "the style." I guess being black is "the thing." But really its just their look.

Aww that made me laugh, i think your generalising a little too much here. I'm a 'white teenager' and i can assure you i don't know many, if any, people who act like their black. Sure there are some who dress like rappers, but how can you act black? Skin colour doesn't change how you act....

Because they are followers, not leaders. They don't get enough discipline at home and rap music has run rampid. Absolutely pathetic. There's no such thing as individuality these days. If I dressed that way when I was a kid I would have gotten my butt kicked on a daily basis, baggy clothes and all that silly attire. To be influenced by that is crazy.

It is the style in society today as well as all of the influence from rap icons. Everyone wants to seem cool and fit in, that is why they try to act like wanksters. Every sect has is, from your goth white kids, to punky kids, ect. It just seems like the cultural influences (such as gangs, music and drugs) today are conforming most young boys into becoming this way depending on their personality types.
