no you are not supposed to feel it let alone hurt! when inserting it you should point it a little towards the back so it slides way in. if you are using a tampon with an applicator keep pushing until you feel it well up inside you. with a tampon with no application (like ob) you will feel wht you are doing better but it is less hygenic so make sure you wash your hands before using it.

A tampon shouldn't hurt. It has nothing to do with being a virgin at all. I was a virgin until I was almost 19 and had used tampons since 13, so don't let anyone tell you it's a bad idea!

Make sure that you push the tampon past the little lump in your vagina, or it is not in all the way and will also be uncomfortable

If you are sure you have it in all the way; It could be that you have a small vaginal canal. Try using O.B. Tampons, which aren't as long as some brands and work just as well.

No. You probably haven't inserted it properly. Make sure to push the tampon inside until it reaches the indentation for your fingers and then push down the plunger. If it still hurts you can try using a tampon with a smaller absorbancy or a "slender" tampon.
(BTW: tampons don't break your hymen)

Wearing a tampon if you're a virgin is not a good idea. The tampon can tear your hymen and that really hurts. If that is not a concern then the pain could be caused b/c you have not put the tampon in far enough. I'd still talk to your mom, though. She should know that you are using tampons.

You probly just don't have it inserted far enough inside of you.

make sure that your flow is strong enough that it helps glide the tampon in as well.

most likely your using a too high of an absorbency. try a smaller one and it won't rub as much.
