If the book Harry potter was publieshed in another langauge other than English do you think that it would successful as it is right now?
(Well English is not my first language wish you can underestand what I mean)
And what are your reasons for that?

Of course, I understand what you mean; some others, just don't try. But it is very doubtful that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone would have been nearly so popular if it had been first published in another language. Especially, given that it is such a phenomenon even in English. But, I'm thinking I could be wrong, as I'm reminded that probably the greatest novel ever written (War and Peace) was written (by a Russian) and I think first published in French. Might just take longer. In fact, it probably does. Because a good story will out.

Most of the book buying public are English readers. Which is why a good foreign language book, explodes in circulation when it is translated into English. Would an originally written foreign language Harry Potter have done as well? Probably not because it would not have been the same book since language carries with it its own biases and even styles.

Probably not as successful. Things always lose a bit in the translation. Idiom is the first to go. I personally don't find the Harry Potter books to be all that interesting. JRR Tolkien does a much better job with fantasy and fiction, and I do believe Lord of the Rings has been translated into many languages.

Probably not; it is far more rare for non-English books to be translated into English than for the verse. Eventually the series would have become well known, but the cultural impact would have been different.
One reason for this is quite simple; the English market for books is simply larger (with more submissions getting rejected) than in other languages.

Harry Potter has been translated into 47 other languages already. it must be popular in those languages, as well as English.

Yes, it will but more slowly because the multi-language people will slowly retell the adventures of Harry Poter to foreigners who do not know English. It would interest them and they would soon try to learn English just to read it. True story. That is how many books become famous. By those who retell them to others. Cool, isn't it? :)

It might be, but English is the easiest language for most of us to read, so it wouldn't be as successful.

Do you mean if it were FIRST published in another language? If so, hard to say.
If you mean if it were ever published in another language, it has been, and it has sold phenomenally well in over 40 languages.
