Aside from diapers and wipes what did you use the most? Is there anything you wished you had? What item(s) were a waste of money?

The Summer Deluxe baby bather is really good. My baby is 13 months old and I'm still using it. He loves it and it makes bathtime very easy. Folds up nice and flat, easy to wash. 15 bucks, if I remember correctly.
For me, the vibrating bouncy seat and the swing were each worth their weight in gold. My baby really enjoyed hanging out in them for the first six months or so, which is the period when you most need a place to park them to give your arms a rest. After the first six months or so, you'll need a playpen for sure.

The biggest waste of money was the bumbo seat. Forty bucks and the kid refused to sit in it after the first week. Next biggest waste of money: the Fisher Price Jumperoo. He loved it--for about a month. 65 dollars.

My favorite was a pack and play and bouncy chair. My son would fall asleep in the bouncy chair when you put it on vibrate. Oh, and a bottle warmer is GREAT for those midnight feedings. Diaper Genie was a BIG waste of money. I used it for a week and then just started throwing the diapers right in the garbage can we keep under the sink. I take it out every night anyway so smell was never an issue.

Diaper Genie was a waste of money (not my money!)... oh and bottles. I still have unopened packages of them!

I think the only "must have" item is my boobs. Nursing came in handy for sooo many things from getting my son to sleep in just a little longer, to illness... to bumps, bruises and hurt feelings.

SOO convenient.

The only item I wish I would have had was a good sling or two... I had a snugli, but it was really uncomfortable and it just didnt seem very secure. Next time Im definatly getting a moby wrap and possibly a hotsling.

Oh, yes, a boppy is a MUST!

I used my swing, my bouncy seat, my front carrier and my boppy the most. I would have liked to have gotten one of those bumbo seats but I couldn't justify buying one other thing. Second time around that is definitely on my list of things to get. I think my daughter would have loved it. I thought Avent bottles were overrated because they leaked many times. But I have dozens so I can't see throwing them all out and buying all new stuff. Oh- I would have liked to have one of those receiving blankets with the velcro. Sounds stupid but I was soooo lousy at swaddling- could never get it right! Sorry- one more thing- the leather Robeez shoes (or the leather knock offs from Target :-)) were great because they were the only shoes that stayed on and kept her socks on.

Most valuable prize goes to:
the bouncy seat ($20)
perfect for infant to sleep or play in at night or anytime, fits on kitchen counter or table (easier to watch baby), and also good for older babies to sit in while holding their own bottle. DO NOT PUT ON TABLE WHEN THEY CAN GET OUT BY THEMSELVES - ONLY INFANTS!

Most convenient prize goes to:
car adapter bottle warmer ($20)
nothing is worse than a screaming baby while you're driving. Takes about 10 minutes to warm up bottle, and then everyone is happy!

Most useless prize goes to:
bassinet ($$$ too much)
I nursed my son, but preferred the couch or glider rocker during the day (highly recommended) or bed at night time. My son was sleeping in his own crib by 2 months and I'm thankful for that every day.

Biggest waste of money prize goes to:
clothes size 0-3 months! ($$$ too much)
Babies can wear clothes that are too big! No one will love them any less. 0-3 clothes last for such a short time... no need!

I could not live without my Graco pack and play. I was also big on swings, but only when my kids used them (my girls hated their swings, but both my sons loved their swings). I also cannot live without a baby gate, I have a wooden one that swings open and attaches to the door frame. Diaper wipe warmers are also a good investment as well as boppy pillows.

A Boppy pillow! It was essential for easy nursing, at least for me.

The other thing we use all the time is our bouncy seat. We took off the front arch with the play things, and use it all the time for the baby to hang out in.

The best thing by far was a upholstered rocker - I lived in it! I also loved my sling - I was never out of it. I also used cloth diapers and once I found diaper raps - I could not live without them.

The nappy wrapping Tommee Tippee bin was a waste of money.
Best thing? The fisher price bouncy chair.

for me it grow to be the swing, with my final 2 in any case. once I first found out i grow to be pregnant with them i could no longer sleep, consume, loosen up, something until eventually that swing grow to be interior the living house. i did no longer care in the event that they have been nekkid peeing everywhere that swing had to be there lol i did no longer have one until eventually my oildest grow to be 7 weeks previous and it grow to be a god deliver. i could no longer think of having a new child without one. It grow to be the 1st time in her tiny existence that i grow to be waiting to get some sleep and she or he grow to be as properly. i did no longer like the newborn tubs, I had this insert ingredient for them that slot interior the time-honored bathtub and that i enjoyed it. a lot much less annoying than carting around a new child bathtub crammed with water. whilst they little ones have been fairly little i grow to be addicted to the Johnsons bedtime products. The bubble bathtub quite. and head huggers. they're foam issues you put in the carseat to make optimistic infant doesnt flop around too undesirable. and of direction the conventional everday stuff, carseats, crib, pampers diapers (I preffered them) and an outstanding form of receiving blankets.
