Using BODMAS will always give the correct answer, it is an acronym which enables us to know exactly the right sequence of doing things mathematically. In particular then given a string of numbers to add, subtract, multiply, divide etc.
What do you think the answer to 2 + 3 x 5 is?
Is it (2 + 3) x 5 = 5 x 5 = 25 ?
or 2 + (3 x 5) = 2 + 15 = 17 ? just like your question.
BODMAS can come to the rescue and give us rules to follow so that we always get the right answer:
(B)rackets
(O)rder
(D)ivision
(M)ultiplication
(A)ddition
(S)ubtraction
So the answer to your question is 6.

without parentheses, the multiplication is finished first (by potential of the Order of Operations regulations, generally abbreviated as PEMDAS). You do upload and subtract final (because of fact the AS right here). so which you're able to do 2 x 2 till now you upload the different 2 : 2 x 2 = 4 4 + 2 = 6 To get your answer, you may state the subject as : (2 + 2) x 2 Then, the P (for parentheses) is finished first. then you do : 2 + 2 = 4 4 x 2 = 8

The answer is 6 - in an equation where there are no brackets, you always do the multiplication/division bits BEFORE you do the addition/subtraction bits. So in this equation, you have to do 2x2 first (=4) and then add 2 (=6)

It's 6. The hierarchy in math is to multiply and divide before you add or subtract unless parentheses are used to indicate hierarchy.
(2+2)x2 = 8
2+2x2 is the same as 2 + (2x2). The answer is 6.
