Wasn't this a ridiculous waste of juridicial time and resources?
Wouldn't you think that a "Judge" would know better than to even start such a frivolous lawsuit?

Take notice also in that news article...
"Judge Judith Bartnoff ordered the plantiff, Roy L. Pearson, to pay the court costs of defendants Soo Chung, Jin Nam Chung and Ki Y. Chung."
Good for them, and I bet the publicity has increased their business and they will now open many more cleaners and become very rich.

I am so happy the dry cleaners won but yet I'm so angry that they had to go through this crap in the first place. I wish there was some way the the court could slap the judge with a frivolous lawsuit label so that they can recover for the emotional pain. I think if it happened to my parents it would cause them to worry so much I would be afraid they would get a heartattack! It was ridiculous that it went to trial in the first place!

The judge who started the case was entitled to money to pay for a whole new suit. This frivolous lawsuit was just another example of how ridiculous lawsuits can be in the US. The worst part is this could have easily put the dry cleaner (a family owned business) out of business. I hope they end up getting some of their lawyers fees back somehow. That judge is most likely never going to be elected again. What a peice of human garbage.

My guess is that he is using this lawsuit to jump into other lawsuits. Over the time that this thing has been going there have been lots of people cracking jokes about this judge. I would not be suprised to find out that Letterman or Leno had made jokes about him. Watch him now try to sue them for slander or something. It might even work. They might settle out of court just to save some money.

EXCELLENT!! I'm so glad the dry cleaner won! I thought the whole thing was ludicrous, esp since the man's pants had been hanging in their shop awaiting pick up for over a year. If that brand new new judge (or atty...whatever he is) thought that starting this infamous case would help his career, I think he's in for a rude awakening. Good for the cleaner!

Yes. It was ridiculous. I can't understand why he would even do something so silly except... maybe he knew it would draw in the media. The Anna Nicole judge has been hogging all the spotlight, I guess.
