To elaborate:
The tree isn't too tall, only about as tall as a one-story house. The person (it's a six-year-old boy, good health) was on one of the higher branches, lost his footing, and had a fairly clean fall (did not encounter any other limbs on the way down). So, what kind of break could be expected?
Also, how long would it take to heal?
Thanks in adance.

To whoaaaaaaayeah: If I was contemplating suicide, why would I be asking about a BROKEN ARM? Please think before you answer.

To JimmyTheGrunt: This is a hypothetical question. Nobody has actually broken his arm. I would, of course, be taking someone to the hospital if they fell out of a tree, rather than asking random Internet people.

There is no way to tell. Too many variables.

That depends on a number of things. In a normal 6 year old boy with NO other health problems, he could expect a lot of scratches and bruises, and perhaps a break. It also depends on how exactly he fell. It could be anything from a greenstick fracture (where the bone doesn't break all the way but is plenty painful) to- in a worst-case scenario- where the broken end of the bone pokes through the skin.
But there are things to think of. I have a friend who used to be heavily into weight-training (no pun intended). And he was strong: He used to bench-press 200 pounds.. But he fell out of a tree and broke his arm- and the limb had to be kept in a cast for over a year because it simply wouldn't heal. And it turned out that he had a condition where the bone simply didn't have enough calcium in it. He had brittle bones. He and his sister were quite angry that no physician thought to check for that before when there was a known family history of that.

One classmate of mine broke his arm pretty bad falling out of a tree. It didn't heal straight and they had to break it again and reset it, and he never did get much power back in it. He was about 10 at the time. The radius and ulna, mostly. It took him years to recover, maybe his whole lifetime, because his arm was all scarred and never quite the same...
The humerus breaking is way more serious stuff and usually happens when you bump into something like a cliff while white water rafting...

Broke the Tailbone "coccyx" while a rope chair gave excess of a cement pad - there is not any exciting waiting 8 weeks for that harm to heal BTW.... potholes interior the line whilst driving or practice tracks will remind you to get off the seat. forget all different bone breaks for discomfort tolerance - this one fairly hurts in a lot of alternative techniques. the solid information is that the discomfort will finally be long previous and does not return. Broke each and each of the RH hands at diverse cases for dumb mess united statesor actual arguments.

HELLO,
THERE ARE 3 MAJOR BONES IN THE ARM, THE ULNA, FIBULA AND HUMERUS. ANY ONE OF THESE MIGHT HAVE BROKEN.
A CLEAN BREAK IS EXPECTED RATHER THAN A SHATTER OR COMPOUND BREAK.
TO HEAL A SIMPLE BREAK USUALLY TAKES 8-10 WEEKS.
THIS MAY ACTUALLY BE A BAD SPRAIN AND A DOCTOR SHOULD TAKE SOME X-RAYS TO BE SURE.

It really depends on how he lands on it as to the break or severe sprain. There would be no way to tell unless this kid was to actually fall from the tree. Hopefully he would come out with only a sprain and nothign worse like falling on his head!!

It really just depends.
He may not be hurt at all... could possibly break his neck if he fell head first..
I had to jump out of a two-story window once when I was 11.. I just had a small fracture on my ankle, and it was badly twisted.
I had a cast for 9 weeks or so.
(Why are you asking this?)

DUDE, take him to the hospital. Don't let y/a people help you with medical advice. That's bad. These people can't even spell. Most are completely illiterate. Take him to the hospital.

it varies..it can range from broken/dislocated wrist, forearm, humerus, clavicle, or even a dislocated/broken shoulder.......it all depends how the fall happened. Bones vary in time to heal
