Great Place to Start. I say we go all the way and hit the Governors, and State Houses too. Would kill the lobbyist. I am going to do my part. Republican or Democrat.. If they are an incumbent, they are gone on my ballot.

Yep! Look at the start of beaucracy in America, thats the way it was done. The candidates that were there were openly selling the country to the highest bidder, so the people voted in people with totally new ideas, usually this meant no experience.
They did great things, sweeping reform. For the first time in years laws were the same across the board, no matter who you were (specifically in regards to connections and money) you were treated the same!
The biggest problem though is that youve got to not only replace the old ones, youve got to somehow prevent the new ones from immediatly corrupting.
One part of this would be to make it easier to run with less money, that way you dont have to have a corporate sponsor just to get your foot in the door. To be a senator you pretty much have to be indebted to at least one major corporation right now, so of course your going to be corrupt, you wont to run again dont you?
Lets do it! Reform in 08!

Yes, I think so. There was a guy named Jack Gargan that worked hard to get that accomplished back in 1992-4, and had a fair amount of success, and a little bit of reform took place due to all the new congresspeople at that time. But shortly, the newness wore off, and now they've become just as bad as the ones they replaced.
Anyway, Gargan ran ads in lots of major papers and helped start a grassfire movement. That was all before the internet was so big. I bet we could make it stronger this year, especially since they all seem to have lost touch with reality.

Yes,this is a good idea. I have been aware of the Iconic Incumbent dilemma for a long time. The powerful friends in the Corporate World that back these stone wallers is strong. Money always talks loud,so grassroots groups have to scream with persistence to get their message out. The individual States from which these repetitive rhetoric spouting wind bags come from, seem to have a hard time voting out failure faces. If people talk enough, and hear enough about change, maybe we can get them out with votes.

I'm all for it in theory but in real life where are we going to find candidates we can all agree on to replace them? Where would we find anybody with any experience if we dump the whole bunch of them at once? I think we need to force them to do our wishes by threatening their jobs. None of them want to be on unemployment or out picking the lettuce that nobody will pick (jk). I DO agree that the ballot box is the place to start fixing the country, we just need to work together.

I would say yes especially the ones who keep making empty promises but who's to say the new ones will be any better we need true American people in congress not people looking for a job, and being able to get out of speeding tickets. Like Glenn Beck said government was supposed for people who want to serve their country and who have the responsibility to not for people to spend their whole life bickering at each other like little children.

this has been my opinion for years. i do not believe new people would be any worse than the "good ole boys".at least they would not be as corrupt initially. we just have to keep the process going.

Uh huh, and you really think this will change things? That the invisible hand of big business and lobbyists wouldn't still seek to do what they do know in terms of controlling the government? Don't forget that the CIA, FBI and judiciary will always be in place.
Despite what you think, voting in a new government won't change much.
