Because you know that is what Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would call it if it meant they could extort money from a business.

time to impeach that Judge.

Was the plaintiff judge playing the race card? I didn't read that anywhere. He should be embarrassed for bringing such a suit to court in the first place. 54 million for a pair of pants? Oh, he later claimed it was the signs in the window that made him sue for 67 million. I'm not sure how he came up with that figure but he should never again be taken seriously in his own court room. Either that or I want him as the presiding judge when I bring such a frivolous lawsuit against anyone.

When I read that article, I thought, "you have got to be kidding me." It's people like Pearson who make you wonder how in the hell someone like him could even get a law degree. It is an abuse of our legal system, and he should pay every penny back that was wasted on that lawsuit.

As for Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, they need step into the 21st Century, they need to realize that they do not represent the "minority" any more.

No. It was a fair and just conclusion to what is one of the most opprobrious and offensive nuisance suits in American history. The judge in this case should have made an example out of Pearson by:
1. Ordering him to make restitution to the owners of the dry cleaners for all the time and money they spent defending this frivolous lawsuit;
2. Sentencing Pearson to 30 days in jail for wasting the court's time and making a mockery of our judicial system;
3. Demanding that Pearson issue a public apology to the owners of the dry cleaners and to the court;
4. Remanding Pearson to the custody of a state mental institution where he would remain for professional treatment of his obvious mental deficiencies;
5. Reprimanding Pearson for his trivialization of the legal system in our country (which Pearson, as a judge, is a part of);
6. Removing Pearson from the bench, taking away his salary, pension, 'perks', and benefits, his home, property, bank accounts, stock portfolios, and all other assets;
7. Chastising Pearson - publicly - for such a blatant display of avarice, hubris, arrogance and ignorance. He is the epitome of those evil, wicked members of our judicial system who think their s**t doesn't stink! -RKO- 06/25/07

What stuns me is the plaintiff is an Administrative Law judge himself---a "degreed law professional"!!

This case is HISTORICALLY LANDMARK in that it tells US society "Enough abusive Civil Court lawsuits!!".

Look for agreed sentiments to trickle down hallowed Civil Courts nation wide almost immediately.

And I'd think wisely twice before I waste the Court's time and money filing a meritless frivolous lawsuit!!!

He deserved the amount of the pants but not the 54 million dollars

Stupid knows no race. Such a stupid lawsuit by a supposedly intelligent person. I wonder what his judicial decisions have been like if he lacks a thread of common sense in his personal life.

no, i think no one should have to pay $54 million for a pair of pants. If anything, they would have had to pay for the value of the suit, not that much money.

The dude deserved the money. Those were the only pants that matched his p-mp cane.

Of course it was racist, how could anyone expect a black judge to be smart enough to represent himself.

Racism has no place in a civilized society. The judge lost not due to his color, but due to his stupidity.
