No just stays in the house and stinks up the place. Its not great to breathe but the Mythbusters proved it wasn't a health hazard.

Insofar as it releases the gas methane it does - but to such a small extent that it would be almost impossible to quantify or measure the effect on global warming. As to being a health hazard it surely is not beneficial.
