Many complexes have efficiency floorplans that are much like loft plans. Everything is open, with little bedroom space, and a bathroom. (Efficient, or essential.)

Small 1 bedroom apartment normally with a kitchen. Ussualy its a little bigger then a studio, and a little smaller then a 1 bedroom apartment. But it can be similar to either. Often times the kitchen is built into the living area and not sperated by much.

an efficiency apartment is one that is basically one room with small kitchen bedroom and maybe a small closet looking room for a bathroom. It's very small and everything is in one room.

It is usually a garage that is coverted into an apartment. Normally includes a bedroom, bathroom, small kitchen, refridgerator, etc., with a seperate entrance. It is attached to the house.
