When I was pregnant with my first (he's two now), I craved HOT buffalo wings, anything with some spice was what I had to have. I had some heartburn in the first half of my pregnancy, but after that I was fine (every pregnancy is different though). It's funny because my son now LOVES spicy foods.

Some people do it, but my doctor told me to stay away from it cause it's like acid, it burns your insides. So i avoided it just to be on the safe side. You can ask your doctor though it might depend.
