I have recently been fired unjustifiably. I definitely want to protect myself, and also want to expose the company for what they did. Will someone please give me a 1-2-3 steps process of what I should do..what my rights are? Thank you...

Unless they broke a labor law (very limited) you have very little recourse.

Did they fire you based on your race, sex, religion, sexual preference, disability, or some other factor that would be illegal? If so then check the department of labor website.

If they did not fire you based on any of those factors then generally the company is in the clear. Kind of depends on what state you live in. Some states have more stringent rules and some states allow an employer to let you go whenever the employer wants.

What reason did they use to let you go? More than likely they told you something. Also, I would bet that you have an idea why.

There's not much you can do if you are employed in an "at-will" state . . . look into your labor laws. You can always contact your state's labor department and Division of Labor Standards Enforcement with questions. I have even contact the Department of Labor with Questions regarding Federal Issues . . . they were very helpful!

Get a lawyer and contact the labor board. Step one, let your lawyer do steps 2 and 3.
