Nobody with any sense hates anybody just because of their nationality, whatever it is.
But I find that there are some traits common to lots of Americans that I hate. Being over-patriotic for one. Tending to be shallow, simplistic, gushing, celebrity-obsessed, falsely optimistic, insincere and phobic about criticism (not personal criticism as much as criticism of America, oddly). Being ignorant of other countries and cultures, assuming all politics is American politics, not understanding why others resent the all-pervasive influence of American corporatism (from Hollywood to McDonalds), dumbing down everything, and denying global warming, or at least man's contribution to it.
There are plenty of Americans not like this of course, (in fact most of those I meet abroad seem to be ashamed of their government and the crassness of American culture) and in many respects Britain, where I'm from, is worse.
But the number of Americans who assume that all questions on YA are in an American context only is astonishing. An Iranian friend of mine just asked a question asking for advice about getting a book published, and got answers about some American institution. This is the case more often than not.
Don't take it to heart, my friend.

Hate is too strong a word, and saying 'Americans' is including everyone. Europeans do, for the most part, hate GW Bush. They do not respect what they see as the majority of Americans who have made some very ill advised and uneducated decisions both on who they wish to lead them, and what hey will allow that leader to do.
Of course now he is near omnipotent, and unstoppable, but thankfully not for too much longer. I sincerely hope that the American people learn from this near catastrophe of Bush's presidency.

It's true to an extent because all most of them know of Americans are either tourists or what the media and propaganda machines feed them on the news.
Assumptions are made by Americans about other countries' citizens, and are made about Americans by them just the same.

I just dislike the fact that Americans believe they are the center of the universe and that the world revolts around them. However I don't hate them but they need to start realizing there's more countries and different cultures.
It's exasperating that some of them don't even know about a different continent

No, this isn't true but this is what our government wants us to believe. The truth is people from other countries don't have a problem with us, they have a problem with our government and its foreign policy practices.
