Well, you don't really "learn" to do splits, you just increase your flexibility until your splits are flat. The fastest way to do this, honestly, is to just hold your splits as far as you can for a minute every day.

Well, it will be difficult to start off with, especially if you don't do much of dance, gymnastics, ice-skating or any other type of sport that includes bending and stretching.
Just make sure that you start of slowly first with doing stretches and DON'T forget to warm up (otherwise you might pull a muscle). Try sitting down and stretching your legs in front of you as far as you can and then do a little bit every day. Also try getting into the splits position but instead of having both legs out, have the front leg out and the back leg bent and then bend down and try to touch your foot. This way you are stretching even further and it helps a lot.
It took me around 2 weeks to do the splits fully but that's because I do dance, it depends on other people's body structure.
So I hope that helps. Just remember: stretch a little further every day and you will soon succeed!

I could do the splits but i haven't tried to in ages firstly you need to stretch all your leg muscles so that you can feel them pulling apart, if you get what I mean. Then you need to work your way from there just keep stretching and soon enough you will be able to go down all the way. After you stretch your legs then you should see if you can go down any further so see if it is working otherwise your not stretching enough. The time depends on how well you stretch it can take up to about 6 months if you stretch properly. Hope i helped you.

Well my dance teacher told me that the best time to try a split is when your muscles are warm, like for me after a class! If ur not a dancer then go out for a jog or just work out or something! Also if u r in ur split position and u feel like u cant go any further relax A LOT and then grab the underside of ur front leg and push up! keep doing this night after night untill ur leg gives in! Also remember to stretch before and after working out and trying to do a split!

ok, front splits or side splits? here's some stuff for both of them.

always warm up before you stretch, i used to try the splits at any moment, and yeah, i was getting better, but then i realized that when i warmed up my muscles were a lot looser so i could go a lot further down. and if one leg is more flexible than the other, concentrate on the stiffer leg.

for the side splits.
there are two tipes of this one, in one of them you end up with the tops of your feet and kneecaps facing forward and the inside thighs flat on the floor. and the other one the tops of your feet and kneecaps are facing up, the backs of your thighs on the floor.

when you try either tilt your pelvis forward, it releases the tension on the tendons. you can try it like this: stand facing your bed, or a chair. leans over it and place your hands on it, slowly starts sliding your legs out to the sides and bend your arms as you do so. the leaning over the chair is so that you actually do tilt your pelvis, once you get on the ground completely work on straightening your back, it's probably not the best way to do it, but it's definitely the easiest. oh, and from what i've done the one where the tops of your feet and knees are facing forward is easiest

front splits (long splits).
lunges. do deep lunges a few times a day. stand on your tip toes and bend down to touch them, don't bend your knees, and don't lock them either.
bend one leg under you and sit on it's heel, stretch the other leg in front of you and bend over so you're laying on it. to learn to do this start with bending your leg to the point where you can lay on it, then slide it forward, straightening it, keeping your body on it. go down until you feel a bit uncomfortable. hold it for 30 seconds at a shot, do it with your other leg, then get up and walk around a bit. do it again if you feel up to it, but spread it out during the day.
DON'T DO IT TIL IT HURTS! not only because it's dangerous, but because your leg will be tenser the next day and you won't be able to do it at all.

so far those are the only tips i can think of, i searched it on google, there are hundrends of tips and hints. oh, it depends a lot on your natural flexibility to determine how long it'll take, but if you stretch loyally and daily you should probably be able to do this is 2-3 months. last time i'll say this, don't overstretch, you'll be stiffer the next time you try it.

Read "The Stark Reality of Stretching" by Dr. Steven Stark. The key point is that you should stretch only to the point of first resistance and hold. The muscles will loosen and you can go a bit further. If you stretch every day your flexibility will improve. Don't over stretch unless you want ligament damage, scar tissue and ultimately reduced flexibility. Six days seems very ambitious. Take longer and avoid permanent damage to your joints and ligaments.

Doing a lot of lunges really helps. But be sure to do them slowly, with your front leg in a 90 degree angle over your foot so that you don't hurt yourself. Getting into your full splits will take a lot of time, but you should stretch every day for at least 30 minutes if you want to get them quickly. Hold every stretch for at least 30 seconds if you want it to do anything at all. Good luck!

LOTS and LOTS of stretching, it helps to put your most flexable leg in front, start by putting your back leg out behind you (toes pointed, but not forced nor flexed) and go into a lunge kinda thing. then slowly let your front leg split, i guess. (its a good way to learn bt it takes a lot of practice and stretching

Depending on how naturally flexible you are, it should take between 2-4 months to get all of them down if you practice everyday. Just practice everyday and go farther and farther without hurting yourself. Good luck!
