Try removing the internal washer inside the shower head. (not the one where it connects to the pipe) Worked on mine.

Your talking too different things... but:
1. Water pressure comes from you water line and the pressure sent to your home from a well pump pressure tank or the water company. Talk to a plumber, I think there are things you may be able to put on your house to increase the pressure but be aware that you need to know what your doing or you can create leaks in your house lines (especially old plumming)
2. Showers are or can be "water savers". A person taking a quick shower does not waste water as much as compared to running a full tub of water for a bath. A long shower to refresh or relax you is pumping more water all the time. If you stayed in there, you could pump as much water through the shower as it takes to fill your tub. So take a quick cleaning in a shower or SOAK in a tub.
3. There are shower heads out there on the market that will squeeze down the water so as to give you a sharper pin point of water spay.. feeling like more pressure from the running water. This sounds like your best option. Look for an adjustable spray showerhead to do this. You can get a good one for about $30-$40

The answer to your question is no. The reason the showerhead is a "water saver" shower head is because it is made with an obstruction inside the shower fixture. This obstructions increases the pressure drop across the shower head and thus reduces the flowrate. The impact on performance is that the water pressure you feel is noticeably lower.

Sandie B is right there is a washer in the part the threads into the shower neck nipple It is rubber and has about 6 or so very little pin size holes in it. Take it out and see how your shower head works then. Every shower head I have install gets yanked and thrown away. They already have cut the water supply size down at the faucet and at the hole that the rubber insert is on the shower head so I don't feel bad at all about pitching it. I rather get a little joy out of it.

There is a disc inside the head to make it a watersaver (2-1/2 gallons per minute). My Waterpic head states that it will not work if the disc is removed. After installation, I found I didn't need to remove it. Great flow and pressure. Mine has different settings for the spray intensity.
