They have ruled in favor of the dry cleaners. I am happy that this was the outcome. This case goes to show what truly is wrong with the judicial system in this country.

When I first heard about this case thought it was a joke....you know something? I hope the defendants sue this @sshole for all their legal fees and he has to pay. Im not talking about the court costs which he has to pay anyway.

The lawsuit was decided against Judge? Roy L. Pearson. If he would have been the smart judge or the officer of the court he claims to be. It should have been seen by a small claims court, not only it was overkill for a traditional civil court, no way his pants are worth 54 Million dollars. Judge Judith Bartnoff felt the suit was excessive, and dismissed the suit against the dry cleaner and ordered Judge Roy L. Pearson to pay the court cost of the dry cleaning proprietors. Hope this frivolous lawsuit taught Judge Pearson that just because he has power does not mean he should always use it, particularly in such an abusive fashion! it doesn't promote respect for authority let alone reason. May Judge Pearson face a long time being a laughingstock of the bench! Notice when he lost he couldn't leave the courthouse soon enough to avoid the media and did not return their calls, and not only is he on the hook for Mr and Mrs Chung's court their attourney is suing to have Judge Pearson pay the Chungs attourney's fees amounting to $10,000.00, which I hope happens, a judge is a Civil Servant and does not draw L.A. Law kind of money, hope that hurts.

I'd be embarrassed to even think of suing like that, the people has already offered to pay 17,000 dollars. As for me I would be pleased if the dry cleaners offered to replaced the missing pants. There may be a race thing going on here, one thing for sure I'd never want that judge to sit on a case of mine unless it was a case of TNT.

I feel for the guy who lost his trousers. My mother once gave a beautiful silk blouse to be dry cleaned. The young guy working there used it as a floor rag. He was fired for another offense. When my mother went in to collect the blouse, the owner not knowing what the guy had done, confronted her with the soiled, tattered blouse, held it up looking at her in contempt saying: You gave us this blouse, THIS BLOUSE to be cleaned. My mother's shock, which was so obvious was not acting, made the owner quickly change his tune, the blouse immediately disappeared under the counter and he very sweetly told her to please come back tomorrow, you will have your blouse as good as new. When this could not be done, there was a cat and mouse saga, whenever my mother went in to claim the blouse, she was told the owner was and she had to see the owner about it....this went on and on, my mother lodged a complaint....this went on and on, finally, the blouse was returned totally un-wearable. No apologies. My mother was infuriated! I under that guy well, I know how he feels. He should get his pound of flesh with the blood too!!!

He can have mine for $54!
What a great country! I wish I lived there. ;o)
Well.. If I was a Judge or a President with stains in my trousers, not a guy sweating to earn a crust.

The judge lost the case. He didn't win, and he has to pay all the legal fees. That's justice imo.

Agreed. But, supposedly he was trying to make a point. He dropped his case for the pants, and went after them for false representation for however many years they were open with signs that said " Satisfaction Guaranteed ". i think it is time for him to retire, because if he makes decisions like that, he needs to rest.

That's incredible. Why does the guy even want people to know he wears a blue and maroon suit?!
