They are staying with us for at least 4 months while my brother in law is serving our country over seas. I've called my HOA to try to get them pool passes and they want $200 each for the 4 month period. I wouldn't mind paying some, but come on! Has anyone been through anything like this? Any ideas as to what I shoud say to get around the monster fee?? All help is greatly appreciated!

whoa, that is way too much for pool passes, I'd look at your hoa website posts and check if anyone is selling their passes for the summer...

It does sound absurd but they can charge whatever the HoA agreed would be proper. You can try to add it to the agenda at the next meeting and try to get it changed.

One more reason why I would never own where a HoA was involved.

It sounds exorbitant but they can do it. You might try contacting some of the members of the board to see if they support it otherwise you have to pay to play.
