Start getting a visum for a partner of someone living in the Netherlands as soon as possible.
Your friend needs to be here legal and have a job, but you do not need to be married or even plan on marriage, but should plan on living together as if married.
If you get that visa it should have a work permit too.
Till than you can (officially) not work in the Netherlands.
The law about learning the language is made to protect people like you. You will learn the language and can talk with the people around you. You can get a real job, when you speak enough Dutch, and will not need to depend on strangers to tell you what to do or what is written in the letters you might get.
And when you get a child, you can teach him or her your own language, but still understand when (s)he goes to school and talks Dutch.
The Prince married a foreign woman, and she started to learn Dutch before even moving to the Netherlands. The father of the prince, (the husband of the queen) came from Germany, as did his father in law, the husband of the previous queen. Both of them learned Dutch before they married, and spoke Dutch till their death.

If you do not have a working permit you can not get a real job. You might be able to get a job as cleaning lady in someones house, or as barmaid, but you can not build up social security with that, and you should go for a permit as soon as possible, and get a real job.
