It's most accurate during first morning urine because there is the highest quantitiy of HCG (pregnancy) hormones during first morning urine which allows it to detect the pregnancy sooner. If you take it and get a positive test you are definately pregnant as a later urine won't give you a false positive. But if it's negative you could still be pregnant as you might not have enough of the pregnancy hormone in your later urine. If you get a negative I would retake it with another test with first morning urine especially if you are taking it the first day or so after your missed period.

As long as you already missed a period then you can test it anytime of the day. It doesn't have to be first urine in the morning. I took mine late at night and once in the afternoon and it was positive and the results were accurate.

1 st morning urine is only best because it has the most concentrated amount of HCG. If you can't wait for first thing in the morning, just try to hold your urine for about an hour and it should be just as accurate!
Good Luck!
Very Best Wishes!-

Normally yor 1st urines is the best, but depending on how late you are it doesn't matter. I took a test about 4 days late and I saw a faint line and the next week the line that actually would tell you if you're pg or not showed first. If you are trying before your missed AF sometimes it won't pick it up if your pg. I did that too!

There's no reports that say you 'have' to take a pregnancy test with your first urination in the morning! You can take one anytime of the day. If you go to the doctors they don't make you wait! I would take one if you feel like you need to and good luck!

I guess it depends on how pregnant you are. The levels are highest in the morning but if they are there, most test will detect it at any time of the day. I waited until the day after my missed period (last week) and took it in the evening and got a positive.

Look, if you are newly pregnant, it is best to wait until morning. I was 6 weeks pregnant when I found out. I took the test at 8p and the line was as blue as can be. If you know how far along you are, then you can figure it out. If not wait til tomorrow.

the hpt usually have leaflets telling when to take the test, depending on the name. but most hpt doesn't require what time to take the test. it's fine to take the test even if it's your 3rd urination. i myself had the hpt done in the evening due to my partner's insistency. it turned out positive. now, i'm 22 weeks pregnant

No, test should still be accurate as long as it's the day or more after you should've started your period.
