Obviously it depends on your man...each guy reacts differently to harsh words. Some shrug it off to PMS others take it personally. Some will sit and talk about it and other will stay a bit mad for a while then get over it without having to discuss it.
My thought on this is when you see him later today wait a few to see if he brings it up if not then very casually say to him something like...look what I said earlier I am really sorry...I was in a foul mood and unfortunately you were the first target. This isn't the norm (?) and I hope that we can move on.
Now with this said he is either going to be glad he doesn't really need to participate or want to discuss it. Hopefully he'll just accept the apology and move on.
That's the best I can give on this one without knowing more details.

But were they true?
If you regret them, even if true, then you can't beat sorry.
I hope it works out for you.
If he is likely to accept your apology you can then do all the things to help 'make up for it'
You know him better than us, so you know if going to the movies, the pub or a cuddle in bed is the best way to show you are sincere.
But also you must remember if there were 'things' that caused you to say what you did, even if unfair etc. and they remain unresolved they will keep coming back until you can sort them out.

Have his favourite meal ready for him. Apologise whilst he's eating and then take him up to the bedroom to show how sorry you are.
