What's the rush ? Unless your baby is very large for his age, he doesn't need solid foods.

For first foods at about 6 months, start with rice cereal made with formula.
Always introduce only one food at a time for at least two weeks. That way you can check for any allergies.

Next try fresh veggies before fruit.Just take whatever you are eating and mash it up very well with the cereal. No need for ready made baby food at this point.
Please get some books on child care and development .Also try a parenting class.
Good luck.

Honestly, the best thing to do is talk to your doctor about that. My son's pediatrician made him wait until he was 4 months for rice cereal. My son is now 5 months old and the doctor said that he doesn't recommend babies starting on first foods until the baby is 6 months old. The reason for this is if you give that food too early it can cause food allergies. I am not taking any chances with that because my sons father is allergic to everything under the sun and he started his first foods when he was 3 months old. Ironically, the foods he is allergic to are the foods he was given when he was 3 months old. However, if you do introduce first foods, only give your baby one at a time. For example if you want to start with apples give her apples only for about 1-2 weeks. You want to make sure if she has an allergic reaction you know what that reaction was to.

Yes, I tried cereal first like everyone says. My daughter hated it. Always try cereal, like rice cereal first (the least allergenic). I would give your baby the milk first because they need that the most. For now they say that solids are just to get a taste. You can increase the amt little by little. Since my daughter hated cereal, I started with vegetables because I didn't want her to eat the fruit (bananas, apple sauce, pears, all being sweet) and not like the veggies being more plain. I started with carrots and she loved it! Then I moved to green beans and so forth. You should stick with one food (ie carrots) for at least 3-4 days to ensure that your baby is not allergic to it. If you see allergic reactions to a food, discontinue it, move on to another veggie/fruit, and try that one baby had a reaction to again in another few weeks. If they react again to it, they probably are allergic and you should tell the baby's doctor.

Yes, it's ok just mix the cereal rice/oatmeal till the texture is soupy.. However, feed her the same mixture for several days and if you notice a rash (diaper rash included) stop and try again another time... The same also goes for feeding baby food stick with the same kind for a few feeding to monitor any type of allergy good luck...

Usually, you begin with cereal mixed with formula around 4-5 months. At 6-7 months, you begin first foods.

When in doubt, ask your baby's doctor!

You start with cereals and give at night before their bedtime feeding. (A few spoons) You start with rice then work up to oatmeal. Then introduce one fruit at a time. Go slow in case they have an allergy to one particular food. After fruit, go orange veggies, sweet potato, squash, carrots.

I would start with cereal first. I started my son at 5 months on baby food but it is all up to you and your doc.

You shouldn't start fruits till you've started the cereals, andveggies first...start cereals now...and wait till 6 months to start veggies.

i'd call your doctor and get their opinion. I think it's normal to start around 5 or 6 months
