Just once I'd love to hear a question from someone who wants to make Hip Hop beats WITHOUT A DAMN COMPUTER!

A large part of the reason hip hop sucks today is because no one in the industry actually understands music. Nobody plays an instrument, and they're even killing DJing. Now everybody thinks they can loop up a simple 4 bar beat to play over and over for 5 minutes, THINK they made a SONG, and call themselves a producer.

What's so bad about knowing how to make beats without a computer?

What's so bad about getting a band together, or understanding things like chord progressions?

A computer is fine for EDITING. It's a tool, but it shouldn't be your MAIN source for making music. How can you actually understand how music works if all you have to do is click a mouse a few times??? If you really are interested in making beats, and really love Hip Hop, then you should want to CREATE MUSIC, not just loop up a beat.

I understand that not everybody can afford instruments, but it's still mentally lazy and very unoriginal to depend on a software. That's why most mainstream rap sounds the same now, because it takes no talent to make beats like that.

I'm just trying to inspire some people to want to bring some skill back into making music. Hip Hop is very sad when it comes to that. It's really one of the least developed forms of music in the world when it comes to the beats. Call it bullsh*t if you want.

No truly decent Hip-Hop making software would be sold in a store.

You should know the best stuff comes out of the trunk of Ray Ray's 2005 Maxima

to everyone who answered the question, please keep the bullsh*t down...

Some people who love Hip Hop can't afford all those instruments, so making music on the computer is fine.
