It sounds like he's joking. Why don't you start saying the same types of things to him? "Call me before you come home so I can run the mailman off" (pool boy, handy man, painter, maid...hehe)....maybe he wont like the joke as much coming from you. If you're feeling insecure, work on that. If what he's doing is contributing, talk to him about it. He needs to understand how this "joking" is affecting your insecurity. He sounds to me like a hard working man with a sense of humor. Work on yourself and join in the fun! A marriage without humor sounds like no fun at all. My husband and I joke about the same things..

Well! I think I would confront him about the whole g/f thing... Tell him if he means it as a joke, that he needs to stop cause it's making you think he's serious and its hurting your feelings. I'm sorry girl, but you just don't joke about something like that!
Me I probably would be concerned. Why would a husband even joke about something like that! I can't say for sure that he is joking or not.. But if I were you I would tell him how you feel, if you have been married and together for that long, he should understand and stop making a joke like that.. Good luck to ya!

He most likely is joking with you, but you need to sit him down and talk with him about this. Tell him it hurts you sometime and ask him to not say it any more.

Let him know that if it continues you might become jealous and I can tell you from experience, jealousy is an ugly ugly emotion. It tore my marriage apart, because she was so jealous you couldnt even talk to another woman on the phone, (someone you have known for years). The worse part was, i wasnt doing anything wrong. She just had no self confidence and was super jealous.

Dont let it continue. Also if he doesnt want to stop, then suggest counseling. If you dont get help soon, it could tear your marriage apart, just like mine.

Good luck to you and your family.

If he is playing some game on you, then he is being very cruel. If there is other evidence that gives you the feeling that he really is cheating, then you need to maybe hire a private detective. However, if his sense of humor is making you paranoid, then maybe you should talk to him about it.

My wife occasionally makes these kinds of jokes. However, we have a 3 year old child whom she mostly takes care of. So I don't worry. Occasionally, I do. Because I am paranoid. And I have not always been perfect. So I project my imperfections onto others. Also, I know that she cheated on her first husband.

Hope this helps.

No, he's joking. The fact is, the joke isn't funny any more. My husband and I have teased each other about my "fancy man" or his "bit on the side". I know him inside out and trust him implicitly and vice versa. You know your husband. Could he cheat on you? What does your heart say?

It's probably just time to knock the old joke on the head. It's not funny and it's making you feel bad. Just tell him to stop it now. Joke back at him about your boyfriend and see how he likes it. If a joke isn't working, it needs to stop. It clearly isn't making you laugh.

Sweetie I think your husband is a plain a joker. So don't worry about what he does tell you, I have a few male friends that will tell such a horrible things to their wife but it was only a joke, like my best friends husband, every time he calls before going home,he will tell her that he needs to stop by to one of his wife to make sure that their kids are doing fine, so just relax....

Well has he always joked this way. If so don't worry about it. I sometimes tell me hubby that my sancho (Mexican word for boyfriend on the sly) is here keeping me "busy". I'm a SAHM so I'm here all day with my three children and he does know that I'm joking.
If you are really concerned talk- COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY to making your relationship stronger.
Good Luck.

He's probably joking bc if he were actually cheating I don't think he would be so upfront about it. My hubby and me joke this way all the time. If it bothers you just tell him next time that you don't find it funny. Maybe the only reason he keeps saying it is bc he thinks you find it as funny as he does.

Most likely your husband is just joking around with you. Most husbands or wives don't tell their spouse they are cheating. If this is really bothering you, you need to talk to him about it and tell him how much this is upsetting you. He probably thinks that you know he is joking and that it doesn't bother you.

OK. I dont think he is cheating. He obviously is sharing information with you about this. I also think he is looking for a reaction.

btw, have you ever gone home without calling? Of course not, because you think it is a joke.
