Of the 2 named, the prosecutor is more culpable. The media did not tell him he should open his trap and say anything. other prosecutors in that position would have given a pat answer about seeking justice without dragging people over the coals or said no comment. The media did not tell him to GRANT 73 interviews, he could have said NO.
HOWEVER to me the most culpable is the heifer who LIED about the whole thing. No one in their right mind can expect any reasonable human being to believe she was raped by 20, then 3, then 5 then 4 then back to 3 men, then NONE of 46 men she slandered had their DNA show up but four others did, including the boyfriend she claimed she had not slept with in over a week prior to the incident. She has gotten away with this which is a crock and because of her lies, she has made it even harder for legit rape victims to be believed and they will be "raped" again by a system that will have higher hurdles for them to jump.

I would lay this mostly at Nifong's doorstep. The man was charged to do his job to the best of his ability, and he went in the exact opposite direction. Blaming the media is a lazy cop-out, and it lets him, the stripper and too many others off the hook way too easily. I would also blame the majority of the American Sheeple as well for feeding the fire, especially those numbskulls who believe that "everything you read in the papers is true." Even if that paper happens to be the New York Post.

The media, that wimp Nifong, idiots like the thugs from the "New Black Panthers", the pandering, politically-correct professors that signed that petition to have the three boys "hung" immediately for their "crime" and most of all, the one TRUE criminal here, that filthy slob and DNA night deposit box, Crystal Mangum. She belongs in jail for the next twenty-five years and if not, she should be responsible for the millions and millions of dollars she and that idiot, pansy Nifong cost the American taxpayers and the families of the accused. And BOTH should be forced to make restitution. What a disgusting perversion of "justice". Nifong has been disbarred and belongs in jail, but the stripper will unfortunately skate free under the protection of the champions of political correctness. I can only hope for a heavy dose of karma to pay back that slob and see her punished for the horrific crimes she has committed against three innocent people.

I'd have to say Nifong. If he had acted properly the charges would have been dropped within a few weeks.
As far as the media, I remember Dan Abrams and Tucker Carlson on MSNBC questioning the credibility of the accuser within a few days of the incident. So, while there was excessive wall to wall coverage, there was actually some quite balanced reporting.

Living in NC, I can tell you that the prosecutor bears the main responsibility, as evidenced by his prosecution and disbarment.I actually thought the press around here and the media in general were pretty fair on this one,

Nifong, he continued to go after those guys even when he knew he had no case, no evidence and no reliable supposed victom. He did it all in an attempt to curry favor from the Black voters in his district for the up coming elections. The media circus was orchestrated by Nifong.

I believe the person most to blame that everyone seems to ignore is the stripper that made the false claims and continued to lie.
She gets off scott free. Political correctness has ruined America.

The media is the problem, BIG TIME. Nifong was the fall guy.
Now rich kids can kidnap, rape and murder with little fear of prosecution because the DA will be too worried with what happened to Nifong.
Reverend Al didn't help much either, and he won't apologize.
