I am not pregnant (I am unfortunately infertile) but I was driving into work this morning and the thought crossed my mind, so I am going to ask.
What do you think about the name "Fortune" for a baby girl? Or "Fortunata"? Can you imagine a person with that name?

I love some of your comments! I diodn't think about Wheel of Fortune or "Miss Fortune"!!! This kind of response shows you why Y!A is so great! :) Thanks for the answers!
Also, just to reiterate - there's NO real child getting this name. I can't have children. I just thought of it as a name and wondered what others thought. :)
(If anyone wants to pray - however you pray in your religion - for my infertility to end, I will appreciate it.) ;)

maybe Fortunata in spanish.. but naming your baby something like Fortune... is like naming it Miracle, or something crazy stupid.

Its different for sure. And kind of pretty. The only thing I can see that might be a problem is the kid being teased about wheres the wheel or boy your mom must have liked wheel of fortune. Kids are mean little things and most of them wont think of the other meanings of the word.

fortunata?? too serious of a name just like trying to name a little boy Napoleon. I love the name though but as a child it's too serious of a name for boy or girl.

I do like Fortune, but i'm not sure about Fortunata. Maybe Fortuna instead, though Fortune would be first choice.

i think that fortune is a very differnt name to name a child but it sound s kind of pretty... but i think that fortunata is a bit much for a name...

I personally don't like either of the names. But If I had to choose one I would choose Fortunata. :)
