I don't want to put any real money in the stock market yet untill I understand it a little more. I would like to do some kind of mock investment game for six months or so and see if I am capable of making money at it. Is there is one out there on the internet? Does anyone know of one any joe schmoe can do?

Investopedia has a stock simulator game http://www.investopedia.com/ Plus it is a great place to learn about investing.

Good luck, some of us have been quite successful trading stock online, but from what I hear, not everyone is so fortunate. If I had any suggestions they would be to find your niche and stick with it. 6 months may not be enough time to find out what works for you, but if you spend that time studying the fundamentals, and what makes the market tick, you'll have a good foundation to start from.

You should find yourself a good stock screener. I use msn money's screener, among others. Go through all the different criteria for screening stocks and learn what each one is. When you know what each criteria is you'll have a much better idea about how to pick winning stocks.

Again, good luck, and I hope you have great success.

This penny stock service has years of proven experience. Ultimately it is the best service for beginners to use https://tr.im/oxypW
You will have to wait between 3 and 10 days to get into the system in most cases. When I signed up it took 8 days. I wished it was faster, but if you can wait a week or two to start earn life changing money than you will have what it takes to make it in this business.

I would strongly recommend www.marketocracy.com.

Not only can you learn, you can read the posts of the top quartile, which may be you at some point, and can win money.

My own account is at http://www.marketocracy.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/Portfolio.woa/ps/FundPublicPage/source=CaHiHdImDlIfEbAoMaKiAbOa

They provide statistical breakdowns of your account. It does have some frustrating elements at time, but overall it is an excellent site.

Good luck!
