I have them in my house and they come out and eat my dog's dry food. They are so fast it is hard to try to get them. I hear them in my bedroom under my bed. It freak's me out, I just hope they can't get in my bed at night. HELP! Hope someone can help me.

Get yourself a cat! Our cat goes out every morning and can easily bring us back a shrew "gift" in a few minutes! Of course our dog can get them just as well, but she is part rat-terrier. You can also try D-con or mousetraps, although to me mousetraps are pretty gross and not terribly effective.

Well, a cat would help. Another thing about shrews, they need lots of food. They have very high metabolisms. If you can prevent them from getting food in your place then they will not be in your place. See if you can move the dog food someplace where the shrews cannot get to it or maybe fix up the container to prevent them from getting into it. Check the house and all of the garbage cans to make sure they are secure and cannot allow the buggers in there. Do allow food to be in places where they can get to it. Also, go around the house and plug up every hole that is allowing them to get inside. You might want to try live traps or mouse traps. Sticky traps would probably work too if you have the constitution to handle disposing of them.

Another thing, make sure that you are dealing with shrews. A shrew definately looks different than a mouse. If you catch one then you will know for sure. However, if you are just seeing them running around then if is possible that they could be mice. I have never actually heard of a shrew infestation before. They usually don't hang around in one place too long unless there is an abundance of food there.
