If you're talking about what I think you are,they're called "rivets". They originated on Levi Strauss Jeans,and were for holding the pockets on tight.

well my grandma sews alot and she calls them doilies (or however you spell it) well if you need to just go to your local walmart and go to the sewing section and ask if they know hope this works for you:>) see ya
