Like if you get a new suit or something, you need to open the pockets. Why do they do this?

It makes the jacket easier to sew and press while being made.

Pockets are basted (loosley sewn) together while still in the store so people will not put their hands in the pockets causing the pockets to sag and ruin the look of the garment.

It is so they look nice hanging in the store. Designer suits and jackets have the paper tag sewn in as well so it doesn’t become torn off and the material does not have to be punctured with the plastic tag thing.

I never do!! They gape and if you put stuff in them, it spoils the look of the suit!!

well i dont know where you live but in my city we have an alteration place you can just go in there and tell them what you want and it shouldn't cost alot either hope this works for you :>) see ya
