And I'm not just talking about saying her music is bad. I mean people actually hate her. Why is this? I'm no big fan but I don't mind her music, it's a lot better than a lot of what's in the charts today. Is it because of her, her music or what?
Please give an actual reason for your opinion, not just "I h8 her SO MUCH!!" or something. Thanks.

i think its actually become unfashionable to like her which shows what narrow minded thinking can be like en masse!
i think she has a great voice which she wastes on a lot of poppy trash and she could do better with it, but her french language songs sung by the french singer songwriter jean jacques goldman is a lot better htan her stuff in english. I really think if you admit to liking celine people think you're uncool, which is really dumb to be honest!

I know what you mean - Celine Dion is a good singer, I am not a fan either, but I don't understand what she's done wrong.
Mainly, hating celebrities comes from boredom or jealousy - people with nothing better to do than scrutinize others, who just want some privacy for once.
I suggest that you only insult someone if you have met them and got to know them... that's the only way you get to know what they are like. We must all learn not to judge others just because of what we read in the press.

I think she can be overbearing to the point of embarrassing.
I don't mind her music personally, but I think that is the grief most people have with her. She sounds sometimes so hyped up as if she about to lead a French revolution. I heard a woman once say that Celine needs to take a chill pill and act more demurely and a little less like a Diva.
I don't get it either... I like her.

She is infact my favourite singer and I've never understood why people really hate her because it's not like shes ever done anything for people to hate her-not that I know of! I understand that not everyone may like her music because it's not their style but I can't understand people hating her. Like someone else said it really has become 'uncool' to liking her and its really bad that I can't tell anyone that my favourite singer is Celine Dion without them making some stupid remark. I also once heard on the radio that they were collecting Celine Dion Cds and breaking them-there really is something which I am also yet to understand!

Because she's a decent person who doesn't sleep around and draw attention to herself, the media have made it "uncool" to like her. So people say that they hate her just because they are following the crowd.
I'm not a huge fan myself either but I'll listen to her music sometimes.
I'm sure she's too strong to be bothered by what people say about her, she has some devoted fans!

because she seems to have done everything for a ridiculously long time, Cher is the same, and Madonna. All 3 are successful women in the music industry, so many people fail to crack music these days, or should they get lucky its for one album only, but these ladies just keep going and going!!

I don't like her music and her songs and I don't care about her voice. It's my human right to like or dislike any singer I choose to without being accused of being jealous or indulging in poppy trash. Basically, I like happy upbeat songs and when there is such a miserable weather like now outside, the last thing I want to listen to is someone whinging about broken hearts or whatever. And as for that her Titanic song, I am allergic to it. You wanted my opinion, so there you have it.

I have always wondered this, but I love Celine. She has an amazing voice and is so much better than some of the crap you hear on the radio these days...
