Replacing them? About 0%. I would like to see more viable alternatives to the 2 party system, but even the Libertarian party doesn't get any real consideration.

Since most people dont know what the ACTUAL differences between a "Republican" and a "Democrat", let alone a third party this will NOT happen over night.
This will have to happen over the course of a LONG time, and the green party is one of the larger "third" parties but still small.
And keep in mind just because people dont agree with what is going on now, doesnt mean history will show it that way.
Keep in mid that another republican president fought in a war for a very long time that lead to the deaths of more americans then any other war. During his time he was considered by many one of the worst presidents and the only reason he was re-elected to the office again and again was because no one else worth while wanted the job.
But over time the view on him changed and a complete 180 was done on his presidency and what he accomplished during his presidency is now seens as something that needed to be done (no matter how poorely it was done or seen at the time) and maybe in 150 years we will look back and see that Bush changed the Middle East for the better (probably not though).

A two-party system is not good in general, however, with our current old-fashioned election system, two parties will always be what we are stuck with.
That is why we need to change the way that we vote from plurality to IRV. Our current system allows for someone to win the presidency even though he or she does not have the most votes. IRV would ensure that whoever wins has at least 50% of the votes.
Back to your general question, the Green Party will never take over for the Republicans because Greens are progressive. They cannot take over for the centre-left Democratic Party let alone the centre-right Republican Party.

None. To take over they would have to basically take the supporters from the republicans. While there are definitely some environmentalists in the Republican party there is not enough for the party to not be needed.

The Green party does not support the ideals of the Republican party. The Republican Party is currently the home of freedom advocating, less(er) government intrusion, scholastic standards to help raise poorer people out of poverty, job creation to help people stay out of poverty, and the defense of the free expression of ideas in the world.
The Green Party is a party of hate that tries to cloud its tyrannical messages of dictatorship behind meaningless environmental pseudo-science.
I doubt they (the Green Party) can tolerate freedom in their ranks - therefore they cannot win an American election (fairly).

It isn't going to happen in 2008. There isn't enough that believe in its ideology. As for the two party system we have now, both are corrupt and evil. Neither think beyond noon today. We allowed them to get that way, now how do you suppose we can fix it?

LOL. Sounds like you're predicting a complete meltdown!
It will be bad, but I don't think it will be that bad. Anyway, if someone were to "take over", I doubt it would be the greenies.
