its possible...deafness can either be caused by a damaged eardrum(etc) or by a damaged portion of the brain responsible for sound...so, since the brain is a bundled network of wires it is possible that the auditory portion of the brain can get activated accidentally in a deaf person...but then again i think the auditory portion wouldve evolved into something else in a deaf person(1st case) since brain cells are extremely versatile...

Depends. In Oliver Sacks' "An Anthropologist on Mars," he describes working with an achromatopic man, a man who can see no colors. He isn't just color-blind, and his eyes work just fine, it's a defect in the brain. Colors escape him not because his eyes aren't interpreting them, but the faculty in his brain is broken to interpret them. And as a result, he can't even imagine colors anymore. Visualizing them in his head is just impossible now.
So, it can go both ways. If hearing fails in only the ears, then I imagine a person can dream sounds. But if hearing fails in the brain, then a person may not be able to even handle even the concept of sound.

If that person was blind since birth, can they see in dreams?
Studies of blind and deaf patients have revealed that they can and do dream, although with some minor variations to how a sighted or hearing person might.

Logically, no way for such people to hear it. They might at the most 'dream' of lip movement visuals, and make out something the way the 'see' in wakeful state.

there thoughts are only photographic...they think by seeing ideas not hearing them...they see very accurate colored scenes in there dreams without sound effects...they do not talk to people in there dreams.
further...born blind guys do not see dreams...they only hear them.
further....born blind deaf/mutes do dream....they do not see or hear in their dreams.....but they feel their dreams as tactile ideas.
good luck

from what have read, blind people who were blinded later do dream with vision, or can at least, but not the ones who are bornb blind, maybe true for deafness.
