The Chungs have prevailed over the judge suing them for $54 Million dollars . The judge gets ZERO and the Chungs get 'Costs' .
Does that mean they only get 'court costs' ?
Can they sue him in civil court for their losses on defense ?.. . . . ..btw it cost them tens of thousands .
And also very important . . . . Will the bar address the competency of the judge who sued them ?

True Patriot - I think the judge waited a week to give his ruling because he probably wanted to research and see just how much he could legally kick the other judge in the as$ . And God Bless the Chungs. . . . .true American Patriots victimized by a judge who is 'American' in name only . Not a True Patriot !!
BTW , whatever happened to your buddies(smile) Brenda , Crypto , Chucky Lucky , etc ?

Stony - True . He hasn't been prosecuted to the fullest yet . I believe I heard that criminal charges are next .. .and if ya ask me , he doesn't stand a chance .
The Chungs may be able to sue depending on if the judge ruled this a frivolous lawsuit , but I'm not sure exactly how that works and I'm waiting for a certain attorney to get home from court and post her answer . You know the attorney . Her name starts with an R and ends with a UTH !! LMAO .

fdj1 - Yes they have gotten free publicity , but don't translate that into $$$ . A dry cleaners only has a certain capacity and considering low dollar merchandise(service) they won't make up what they lost . It's hard to make-up $30,000 on $20 receipts .

Another one for you late arrivals . Surely they could've defended themselves without a lawyer and probably won. . .BUT , if you're getting sued for $54 Million dollars by a judge / attorney .. . would you take the chance of losing ? Could it be logically considered that they were 'FORCED' to pay to defend themselves ?

I think it would be FUNNY if this dude was just trying to point out how SILLY our justice system has gotten. People slap lawsuits against each other for such petty things, it's ridiculous. Sure, this family went through a nightmare- maybe they'll be compensated for it, BUT it sure brought to light one of the biggest problems I've seen within our country. Maybe this will bring about some much needed change.
SERIOUSLY - if you're too stupid to know that coffee is HOT and are too stupid to know how to use your cup holder, WTF are you doing with a drivers license - why aren't you locked away in some room with padded walls where you can't hurt yourself or anyone else? What right do you have to SUE someone for your own dumba$$ mistakes??
If you can't freaking eat a hamburger properly without burning yourself on a PICKLE - again, wtf are you doing on the streets?
We allow and ENCOURAGE stupidity in our courts. People should be fined or jailed for wasting the courts time with such petty issues.

Justice should be blind but not stupid...
I'm w/ Plez..ALJ (admin law judges) like all professional should be subject to standard licensing practices...
...have law degree, pass a rigorous standardized federal test and a state test, attend continuing education courses xx # of hours before their license is renewed every 2 years.
There should also be a peer review system that examines and scores each judge's competence, efficacy and actions taken with frivolous law suits. This "peer review" should be tied to job retention or if elected -available as a public record for voters to review.
..Earnest... yes its ALWAYS good when justice 'works'!
Nifong should get to enjoy the time spent in a cell to reflect on his ambition and greed..The Chung's like many Americans know that good and bad exist everywhere. When the "bad" surfaces, the best plan is to expose the bad and seek a 'just' resolution -hopefully that will prevent the 'bad" from causing others same/similar trouble/problems.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I heard about this case and I was appalled. I can't believe it took a judge this long. In fact, I can't believe it made it to trial to begin with. For a pair of freaking pants. That's just crazy.
Yes, I think the judge who sued should receive some kind of punishment. And the Chung's should get more than court costs. This high profile case probably hurt their business a great deal.
ETA: I think my "buddies" (and I use that term loosely) are in hiding. I am sure they will be back. But I won't back down. THAT you can count on.

Nifong needs to do some hard time behind bars himself. He was willing to ruin the lives of several innocent people to get himself re-elected. But what else would you expect out of a Democrat? They have been costing GIs their lives for years by playing politics with war. Too bad Harry Reid isn't on trial!
The ALJ (Administrative Law Judge) that sued the Dry Cleaners is one of 1400 ALJs on the Federal Payroll. An article in the Washington Post this morning said they are UNIONZED and the union is fighting a new Federal requirement that they be ACTIVE members of a Bar Association and be required to receive CLE (Continuing Legal Education). You mean they don't already? Good grief, Charlie Brown!

That so-called Judge will only get what he deserves when he gets his peeper caught in the zipper of his "pants" and has to rush to the nearest dry cleaner and beg the seamstress to help!
PS I think to support the Chungs we should all have a pair of pants sent to them for dry cleaning then they could donate the pants to a local charity after that. ---That would be cool!
Could you imagine? How easy it would be to send a pair of pants with 12 bucks and a note. We could make the Chungs rich and Mr. Judge-man would would be seething!
By George, I think I am going to do that.

Seems to be a trend for true justice coming forward. It's about time! Still such nonsense will continue. Rouge prosecutors will pop up and here and there and frivolous lawsuits still continue. Heck even legit ones can bite back...some lady in NY got a $35K settlement but after expenses, lawyer fees and NY special tax ended up with $6.06.

There is an old Greek law that if you charge someone with something and it proves to be false you get the penalty you are seeking in the first place.
So in the case of the dry cleaners that judge would be soak for 54 mil.
And Nifong would be in jail for rape.

Nifong definitely got what he deserved, and I think there will be law suits brought against him by the young men involved in that mess. GOOD FOR THE CHUNGS!!!! I don't know what all "losses" covers, I hope they recover everything this mess has cost them. As for the Judge, he has already lost his job, hopefully he'll be disbarred.

No the Chungs have to eat their defense costs, I think. I suppose they could sue him for suing them, but I don't see such a suit going to trial.
Is Nifong going to jail? If not, he didn't get what he deserved as far as I'm concerned. What he did was a willful and malicious abuse of power that should be punishable under the law if it isn't.

Hopefully it includes legal costs. If not they should sue the judge who sued them.
Nifong has not (yet) got what he deserved. He is still walking around a free man.
