It is highly unlikely for the Earth to Explode by itself. However, chances of the Moon eventually colliding with the Earth in due time is quite a reasonable estimation.
Would Earth become desolate, by then; is what one speculates to be true.

I beg to differ from the four previous answers. Yes. That is exactly what happened to the planet between Jupiter and Mars. It is now called the Asteroid Belt. Before it happens Mars will explode and after the Earth explodes Venus, and finally Mercury will explode. This is due to gravitational forces between Jupiter and the sun, which creates a "tug of war" that shatters the planets between them.

the earth explode by it's own, unlikely! however, when they tested the first atomic bomb in new mexico, they didn't know if the chain reaction of the hydrogen in the bomb will cause the hydrogen in the rest of the atmosphere to ignite as well and burn the whole planet. they went ahead and tested the bomb anyway.
they took a gamble with humanity. i guess we can say we won.
