If you are not quite sure of decor your cousin would like, a gift card to Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, or even Target or Home Depot is always appreciated. Many of these stores have online shopping if she/he does not have one in his/her town. I know that gift cards can seem somewhat impersonal, but the receivers always have fun with them and then they can get what they really want or need.
Other ideas: cookbook, grill utensils, bottle of wine, a nice serving dish, a beautiful vase with fresh flowers, a potted plant, stone coasters (they even have coasters that you can put personal pictures in- this might be nice if you have some cool family photos), place mats with matching napkins....
Hope this helps! Good luck.

I framed a nice poem on pretty paper and the frame just happened to match the woodwork in the house
A nice candle or some bathroom hand towels work nicely as well.
A potted plant, a fish bowl
Just about anything will do for a gift...

Giftcards to Lowe's, Home Depot, Garden Ridge, etc.
I just bought my first home and hoping to have a little get-together! These kind of gifts would be ideal!! I would be able to buy what I really need without the giver being nervous that I might already have it.

Towels, white 6 would be nice.I know I would love to have 6 white towels for when I need new ones. That way you can always have a new one for when company comes over. Then next would be a gift card from a shopping place that I liked...

Something unique that reflects your cousin's likes, such as a piece of artwork, with a gift card to a home furnishing store tucked inside. Gift cards are great!!!!!!!
