its normal to start having contractions around this time, braxton-hicks contractions are very common at this point. if the contractions starting to get close together and have a regular pattern for let's say about two hours then you should call the doctor. when it was time for me to go to the hospital i was contracting every three minutes for about two hours before I made the call. ask your midwife or doctor about when you should call. baby dropped and is getting ready for delivery, make sure you have your hospital bag ready and packed and finish up anything else you need to get done such as the baby's room b/c when the baby comes you will find yourself with little or no time to do such things. Good luck, keep breathing!

I would wait to call the doc until they start to hurt. But I just went threw labor a month ago and I was the same way I really didnt know what a contraction felt like. But trust me you will know they are very painful and it will be a feeling that you probley havnt felt during the preg. If you think it is a contraction start timing them. You should go to the doc when there are about 10 to 15 min apart. Good luck

Sounds like your baby might have dropped. This is called lightening or engagement and occurs usually in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy. The pains you might be feeling are the intense pressure the baby is now putting on your pelvis because his head is right there now.
You might also be having stronger Braxton-Hicks contractions.
Congratulations - you're getting near the big day!

At 36 weeks it is normal to start having contractions. It could be just braxton hicks getting stronger. I would just pay attention (see if anything specific triggers them) and if they get stronger and more regular (where you can see a pattern) call your doctor. Until then, it's just your body prepping for labor.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Its normal Braxton-Hicks. You will get more as your baby positions itself , getting ready for birth. Your belly probably looks lower now and you have more pressure down there , right?
Real labor pains are very, very different, and you will know when it happens.
Try and relax and rub cocoa butter on your tummy. It helps.

This happened to me starting at 31 weeks. My doctor sent me to the hospital, because it is a little to early, and they determined that it is lightening. You will probably go into labor soon.

sounds like braxton hicks (I think of those as practice contractions) It's nothing to worry about really. Real labor pains don't just go away.
You should mention them to your doctor but its nothing to get into a panic about.

It probably is normal, but any time you have a concern, call your doctor. It's what they are there for!
