Blue smoke is from burning oil---could be worn valve stem guides or seals, worn piston rings/cylinder bores or turbo leakage----have a compression test and cylinder leakdown test done to determine if it's rings or valve problems----if they are ok, then it's a turbo problem. Usually, lots of smoke at startup and little while driving indicates valve seals leaking oil after sitting a while and once it's burned off, the problem is diminished.

If it smokes when at an idle and when pulling out after sitting at an idle I can tell you exactly whet it is. You need new valve guide seals. Cheap parts, but the cost a little to have installed. They are not hard to install if you have the knowledge and the tools. What happens is the oil seeps past the worn out seal and into the cylinders and oil burns blue. Thank You, Rob in PA.

valve guide seals will cause oil to build up when the engine does not run, and the turbo will leak if the oil seal is leaking. take the intake and exhaust boots off the turbo and see if it is dry. no moisture at all. if it is wet, hang on tight, and buy a turbo. good luck. just amke sure you check the oil every day as well. it doesn't hold alot.

Blue smoke is a sign of valve guides needing attention, the seals are old and worn... you will need to replace the valve guides soon...

Smoke at start-up is bad valve seals. Smoke all the time is bad rings.

Blue smoke is usually a sign of the rings failing. Check it out now before you do more damage to your engine and wallet.

It's going to be in the cylinder head somewhere. Piston or rings the most likely culprit.
