What we've seen in the last week has been something very much out of the ordinary. Today's intense rainfall has broken new records and although the month isn't over yet it's already the wettest June on record. Normally June is much drier and warmer than it has been,

I guess we've been spoiled these last few months with it having been much warmer and drier than normal.

There's floods every other year or so but not on the present scale.

On the bright side, the worst of the weather should be over by tomorrow and things should start returning to normal. The long range forecast isn't much to get excited about - next few weeks look like being a mixed bag, nothing special.
