She isnt stylish - she just has vast amounts of money and access to all the lastest fashions to put into never ending wadrobe.
Last year those world cup outifits with the fake hair and tiny hotpants and boots was distinctly hooker-ish. She's only looking (vaguely) good now because of the fashions that are around at the moment
I would not regard Victoria Beckham as stylish at all because she tries so desparately hard to be noticed and I think that's pretty sad.
I doubt very much if she'll be setting the US fashion scene on fire as very few of them are even concerned with who she is.

Style is individual but ......if you want to see a nation where every 5 year old is better dressed than most english and american people you go to Italy.
I just spend the weekend in Ancona and I have say I felt constantly underdressed. There is a whole nation taking pride in looking good and making the most of fashion.
Victoria Beckham - I'm no fan - neither of her style nor the stick-insect body image she represents. She has enough money to have stylist tell her what's hip - where is the challenge in that?

The problem with 'fashion gurus' is that they have an idea of what they like and that to them is style, much like normal people. You know style if you see it and there are not many stylish people about these days. There are lots who would appear stylish to a certain group but generically stylish is unlikely to happen in an world with the internet.

Jackie you really can't blame all the US for an opinion expressed by American fashionistas. Nor can you generalise about the way a whole nation dresses. I suggest you walk down the average English high street and notice the lack of taste, style and often complete absence of appropriateness! Male and Female.
It's a shame you didn't save your outrage for a cause that actually matters.

1.wearing a shirt + corset and (hot?)pants is not stylish... its attention seeking and slightly peculiar.
2. There are 300 million people living in the US... you can't tar them all with the same brush... that's like saying all British people have bad teeth (when we know the only people in the UK with bad teeth are the guests on Jeremy Kyle).
3. They don't all dress the same in the US- i know, i lived there a while.
4. Lots of people in the UK wear jeans and t-shirts
5. I would rather see anyone of school age go to school in jeans and tshirt rather than corset and pants or a small animal print dress.

I'm CAnadian, and I agree, what's this about dressing up all the time? WHO CARES!?
Why do we need to dress up to look good? I don't think we have nothing to proove to anyone, we have every right in the world to dress however ``scruffy`` we want! You're obset because american's judge VIctoria, but you're doing the exact same!

i don't really care about VB . The British and Americans can have totally different dress sense but I don't think anyone should be knocking anyone down! I'm not into fashion anyway. I wear what looks good on me! =)

Not sure where exactly you are, guessing the UK, though I doubt anyone will take kindly to your generalizations.
I agree that we dress down too much in America, I'd like to see more people dressed in nice clothing, but I'd be damned if you if we don't have the right to dress how we want. If you want to wear a dress, or a sweatshirt or a PVC bodysuit, that's your prerogative and if you're dismissing people on their choice of dress then I deride you.

Grow up Jackie you can't group an entire country of people together because of 1 magazine article. Plus I live in Europe and I see hundreds of people wear jeans and t-shits every day. Maybe when your a grown up you'll understand how the real world works and it's not what you read in teen people.

You don't know how Americans dress, then. From what I've read, many people dislike the fact that she's very thin more than the way that she dresses. Also, periods are your friend. This reads like one long sentence.
