This might be hard, but you need to put on your b*tchy hat. Make his life miserable every time you see him, embarrass him, tell all your friends about his sexual inadequacies, get a boyfriend of a different race. You need to make him realize he is better off without you, even if it goes against your better judgement. He is hanging on because he thinks there might be a chance or that you will "come to your senses."

You can file for divorce but I get his point. What is so urgent? I don't know the situation here but you should give him a little time for things to settle in. He probably wants to hold on because he thinks that it may still work. In his mind he has to know it's over too before he will want the divorce. And if you do it when he isn't happy any disputes with property or children could get messy. Give him a little more time if he needs it. I don't see the need to rush things.

You can begin the proceedings. Depending on your place of residency you may have to wait a specified amount of time in separation for the divorce to go through. The cost is also dependant on the laws where you live and the lawyer you choose and if or if not the divorce is contested by your spouse.

If your husband won't give you a divorce then in UK law you have to spend 2 years apart before the courts will consider your case.
2years sounds a long time but it will pass quickly if you fill your time with your friends and family.
Sorry can't be more helpful but that is the law of our land as it stands at the moment.
Good luck.

You probably have to seek the advice of a solicitor or a family law court to see if you can take further steps. Have you tried to seek a marriage counsellor yet or has the marriage breakdown has progressed far beyond repair? If you don't have a lot of money or not going to sue him ask if you can get legal aid. But ask questions first.

It only takes one person to get a divorce. Hire a lawyer and start the process.

You can file for divorce, but if he chooses to contest it, it will be more expensive than an uncontested (both sides agree to it) divorce.
