Get your proof then sack him, he doesn't sound like a friend to me just a jealous little child.

Business is business, and if an employee is causing a problem then you must deal with it like any other employee.

Your friendship can't come into it and i have to agree with the above answer, try and get a line manager to deal with it if possible before you get involved.

If this gets nasty and ends up as a unfair dismissal claim then the less you are involved the better.
I've worked with friends and it's impossible for events at work not to bleed into your personal lives, arguments don't stop when the whistle blows so i wouldn't employ a friend or family member now.

Very difficult, I have employed both family members and friends when I used to run a business, fortunately it worked out o,k, The thing to do is to make it clear before you employ them, that they are an employee the same as the rest of the staff, then difficulties should not arise. You must talk to your friend quietly , if he doesn`t realise he is causing problems, he must be told.

like an employer, my husband was his brothers boss and from day one he stated in work he was an employee outside work a brother and it worked well. this should have been set out in the beginning. Try to explain to your friend as a friend you need to treat her like any other employee and that is disciplining as well. Good luck.

Tell them they have to shape up. Bussiness is bussiness and you can't afford to carry passangers. Just hope he/she doesn't take it too personally.
