Depending on where you live, I have seen family sawmills that sell this in the N.C.,S.C., Ga, and Tennessee mountain areas. This is usually where you get this type of cedar split rail. Don't let them sell you pine, it won't last long for the cost.
You can try to ask home centers or smaller-town hardwarre centers. Sometimes they know someone even if they do not carry it.

I have seen this material at Lumber yards in my area. Also farm stores like Tractor Supply. (TSC)
