Senators running for president this next election have made the comment “If I am elected President I will fix the health care system by….” Each of the candidates that is currently a senator is being paid a good salary and benefits that far exceeds the average man’s income, so if they have a plan why do we have to wait until the next election?

If a candidate is ineffective, refuses to make changes while senator and/or spends more time campaigning than focusing on the needs of their state and our country, what makes this candidate even a consideration to be president?

You are perceptive. That is their worst nightmare. They like to talk about what they are going to do bc they know it won't matter. The excecutive branch does not make laws. If they wanted to fix things, they would do while they are in the legislative branch of govt

Plans and hopes and dreams mean nothing when for the past 6 years Republicans have been in control of the White House and Congress. It's not enough to want change without power to effect change.. The bigger question should be. What have Republicans done good for the average working class American in the past 6 years? We all know most of the tax cuts went to the top one percent of wage earners. We also all know Republicans have ran up a $9 trillion debt for the working class to pay over the next ten years..

Because the current President will veto any plan that they come up with, like he does with everything else they have come up with. Besides health care is not the top concern in the Senate right now.
