Yes it is plenty. You need the bigger models for storing films and doing heavy graphic work.

It is big enough if you are content with it. If you download music or video or even cache your games I would think 120gb + would be in order. Unlike a desktop you cannot just pop in a second drive. You can add an external drive or store to CD\DVD but it make the notebook more cumbursome.
I would install\order the biggest drive I could afford.

You have WAY more than enough capacity. If that's all you want to do, you could probably get by with a 20GB hard drive.

My 'work' computer has a 60GB, and I find that sufficient, even though I have to use multiple programs to operate. And I could clean off a lot of crap on that HD that I just 'store' there, because I have the space to do it.

If you are just pricing notebooks and plan to buy one. Get the largest and fastest that your budget will allow.

The 80GB hard drive that you spoke of will be fine for everyday task.

It is more than enough. For that kind of stuff, you can even have a 40 gigabyte hard drive and have lots of pictures & .mp3 files on your hard drive too.
A lot of people are storing full-length videos on their hard drives now, so that's why you see people buying these large-capacity 250 gig or larger drives.

Yes, well, it does depend on what you are trying to use the laptop for. But I would think that would be plenty for the average user

Unless you are going to download a ton of music or videos, then that is way more than you'll ever need.
