The NFL. It is overall way more successful. When a league has the fan base and the overall revenue that they have grossing over 7 billion dollars a year it's hard to beat. Now when you are watching the two, I still believe that the NFL is more entertaining and more fun. I'm not knocking Rugby at all i just believe the NFL is much better.

NFL. It's a dangerous sport that wasn't always played with pads and helmets. The reason it was incorporated because as the guys became bigger, the hits were harder and people started getting serious injuries.

With Rugby, it's less stop and go and mostly running. It's more of a cardio sport than strength. Which is why the NFL is better. It's a sport in itself just watching the fans get so excited over each play. The players clinching the green, simultaneous deep breath, knuckles turning white, and finally the best sound in the world of clashing helmets... ah, the good ol' glory

NFL destroys rugby, it puts it in it's mouth, chews a little, then spits it out because it's such a horrible sport, i would rather paint my house than watch or play rugby. Getting a root canal even sounds better. At least in the NFL, you can actually understand what's happening. The only decent thing about rugby is watching the guys get hit because the rest is useless.

I played football through college and played on some intramural rugby teams in college. Rugby was fun to play, but I still prefer football. And to watch? Hands down the NFL is best.

Anybody who thinks rugby is better than the NFL just doesn't understand what they are seeing with the NFL...NFL rules...

Rugby is faster and more viewer friendly but American Football (NFL) is alot more intricate and uses your brain as well as your body.

NFL players are more athletic, that's why they get paid more money. Rugby is a crummy sport, they don't hit hard enough.

What a stupid question!

Both sports are so different it's not even possible to compare, maybe try comparing rugby league with union or american football with canadian football at least it's a close comparison!

It's like comparing horse racing with bowling!
