It is to do with the loss of blood, so your body craves sugar to cope with loss of energy. That is why we crave chocolate. Its ok, it is normal, but avoid salt, as this will just cause you to retain water and bloat, and if you are prone to spots, eat dark chocolate, as it will curb the craving, and will have less sugar in.

Not everyone does. I tended to go off food when I was at my heaviest due to the pain I was in!! I'm pregnant now and loving it cos I don't have the dread of starting each month!!!!
