I'm a nurse and I LOVE it. I'm also very poor and work crazy hours and holidays and get yelled at a lot by doctors and treated like a maid by patients and treated like a whore by guys I date. Woo hoo!

I have been in developments for nearly 13 years ... after I graduated. I think you should try to get out of education as soon as possible to get exposure in real world ... I started late i.e. when I was 29 years old, to get my exposure. In corporate world, experience is very crucial and my educations only applies just a fraction of what i learn in college. So get started fast ... else you will be 50 years old and still an junior executive in a company... that is my advice.

A profession is something that you do during the day, to have money so that you can do what you enjoy in the evening and on weekends. Unless you are born to extreme wealth in which case, it is used to abate boredom and guilt.
Every profession that I have encountered has its ups and downs.
"Do something you love" can be a set up for so many people. Its called "work" for a reason. It isn't called "playtime" or "fun".

You sound kind of bored. Are you? After 20+ years in the corporate world, I needed to have my independence and set my own hours. I've been appraising real estate for almost 5 years now. And I love it. I just wish the real estate market were better.
