Hi,
a couple of questions for you? Do you just want to be on tv? Or do you want to become an actor?
The reason I ask is, because there are people who say they want to be famous and I ask them the same question.
If you want to become an actor, before you start thinking about getting an agent and auditioning, you need to think about studying and building your ability to act. Without that, you will not go very far.
So first and foremost think of getting into a good acting school. Let me send you to a link that might be of help when choosing an acting school. You also might want to have a look around the site as it was named appropriately:
http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/acting_classes.html
Read some books about the different techniques by:
Sandford Meisner
Lee Strasberg
Uta Hagen
or
Stella Adler
Here is another link for you to go to that can help you see what it is like day to day as an actor looking for a job and auditioning:
http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/working_as_an_actor.html
and another time, on the set of an independent film:
http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/a_working_actor.html
If you really want to be an actor, you might want to change the way you talk and instead of saying you want to be on tv, that you want to become an actor. People will take you more seriously.
Then if they ask you why you want to be an actor and if you really know what it means to be an actor, now at least you will have some idea if you do the two things above that I suggested. Your answer will sound better even to you, if you don't say, "Because I want to be on tv."
Hope this gives you some food for thought.
My website was built especially for you.
Good luck!
Tony

To be on TV, you need an acting agent, so they can find out about auditions and submit you.
You know there will be lots of TV audition during January-April, because this is Pilot Season.
You can also find out about auditions from word of mouth, local newspapers, acting newspapers (the stage, backstage), or websites like www.craigslist.org or www.mandy.com
Hope this helps, good luck!

yes you need an agent who specializes in TV because each agent specializes in only a certain industry.
