how is it it is far from center london ?I am french and I have to go there on december but I don't know that city

Kensington is about 10 mins from central (Oxford Street etc) London by tube

Kensington is in the South West end of central London in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. You will be pretty central to almost everything a tourist in London needs/wants.

You will find it very easy to navigate around London using the Underground or Tube as it's nicknamed. It is just like the Paris Metro. Get a pass for convienience. Buses are scenic but slow. My advice is to take a guided bus tour on your first day... To get your bearings and see the layout for yourself, then use the tubes to actually get to where you want to go on a daily basis. Taxis are convienient. But very expensive.

it is the centre of london. everything is reachable within like 10mins by train and bus

Its pretty central - get a black cab, by far the easiest way to get around!
